External Audit: - MALTESE

Date 5/3/2007

Further to the various conversations and meetings held at Chiswick House School and St Martin’s College, I am delighted to report that Dr Charles Briffa, the Principal Subject Area Officer for languages with the Matsec Support Unit of the University of Malta, has agreed to carry out the External Audit in our Schools.  This evaluation of the Teaching and Learning of Maltese will follow a three-phase programme:

Phase One:

Data Collection from Administrators, Teachers, Students, Parents.

Phase Two:

Quality Review – Syllabuses, texts, exam papers, marked students’ work, teaching methods, etc.

Phase Three:

Report

- findings/analysis

- observations

- conclusions

- suggestions

Phase One has just started and we are hoping that Phase Two will commence later on this term or early next scholastic year.

Once the Report is submitted, we will be able to discuss the salient points with teachers, administrators and parents.
