The Early Years - Levels and Ages

  • Reception: 2 years 3 months - 3 years
  • Kindergarten 1: 3 - 4 years
  • Kindergarten 2: 4 - 5 years
  • Junior 1: 5 - 6 years
  • Junior 2: 6 - 7 years

The School Day - Time School Starts and Ends

  • Reception, Kg1 & 2: 09:00 - 13:00
  • Morning school doors open: 08:45
  • Afternoon school doors open: 12:45

Junior 1 & 2

  • September - May: 08:15 - 14:20
  • Morning school doors open: 08:00
  • Afternoon school doors open: 14:20
  • Close: 14:40

 

June: 08:15 - 12:30

  • Morning school doors open: 08:00
  • Afternoon school doors open: 12:30
  • Close: 12:50

We strive to ensure that children entrusted to our care live and learn in a safe and stimulating environment. Our exciting programme aims at making everyday a positive and creative experience.

Our dedicated staff work together to enable children to reach their full potential and flourish within a holistic educational setting.

The Early Years Programme

All areas of learning stipulated in the National Curriculum are taught through a variety of topics with the following aims: 

• Personal, Social and Emotional Development
• Communication, Language and Literacy
• Mathematical Development
• Knowledge and understanding of the world
• Creative and Physical development.

Our programme provides children with opportunities to explore, experiment, plan and make decisions for themselves through;

• Creative experiences in the Art room
• Physical education and Rhythmic Movement
• Singing and Drama
• Introduction to the computer.

The school day starts at 9.00 am and ends at 1.00 pm.
We offer ‘Extended Day’ sessions in the morning from 8.00am to 9.00 am and in the afternoon from 1.00 pm to 2.30 pm

The Reception and Kindergarten programme is centred on six areas of development as follows:

  • Personal, Social and Emotional development
  • Communication, Language and Literacy
  • Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
  • Knowledge and Understanding of the World
  • Physical Development
  • Creative Development

 

The Junior 1 & 2 Programme

In Junior 1 and 2 a well resourced, broad-based curriculum is followed.  This is also in line with the National Curriculum. The Programmes of Study for all classes include English, Maltese, Mathematics, Religious Studies, Environmental Studies, Information and Communication Technology, Art, Music, Physical Education and Sport.
